Mazda MX-5 Sprint Championship

Each calendar year the Motor Sport leadership team organises a Sprint Championship.

This year’s Championship is proudly supported by naming rights sponsor Essendon Mazda.

This championship is based upon the participation in, and results of, a number of competition rounds (approximately 10 per year). The eligible rounds are selected by the Club Captain – Motor Sport and the Assistant Club Captain – Motor Sport.

All events are open to Club members holding a CAMS Level 2S (or higher) licence. All rounds of the championship are single-car events — ie, against the clock rather than head-to-head — so there is very little chance of damage occurring. Daily-driven cars are perfectly suitable; you do not need a dedicated track car.

Outstanding performances are recognised by our range of Championship trophies.

Competitor Declarations
Prior to competing in any year’s Sprint Championship, each entrant must complete a Competitor’s Declaration / Classification Form, giving details of their vehicle (including modifications) and nominating the Class in which they wish to compete. This form must be signed and lodged with the Club Captain, who will check the details and confirm the competition class. Click the “Competitor Declarations” button above to go to the page to select your form for download.
